Read, Learn, Grow - Easter

Friday March 29 9:00am-11:45am 

Participants will enjoy a Christian based Easter storybook, engage in a bunny hop obstacle course and participate in a candy free egg hunt.

We will have a new group start every 15 minutes, groups are limited to 30 children.  You must preregister children You do not need to register accompanying adults.)  We designed this event with ages 2-6 in mind, though all are welcome.  The event will take 30-45 minutes.  

Cost is $5 per child.

Registration will open Saturday, March 16 at 9am.

*We are using a new registration system this year.  You can pre-pay using a credit card online, or choose cash to pay at the event.  If you need to cancel or switch your time you will need to email applecastleevents@gmail.com.  Refunds will only be issued for cancellations 24 hours prior to the event start.*

Tree Pruning Seminar

Saturday, April 6 10am-12pm

Properly pruning your fruit trees, is the primary way to increase the quality and quantity of fruit.  Join us for this hands on seminar to learn best practices and tops to prune your trees for ideal fruit production. 

The event will be outside and include walking, so please dress appropriately.  You may bring your own pruners. 

No registration necessary, just show up at the Apple Castle porch.

$10 per person, pint of cider & a donut will be included.

Tour De Donut

5K – Friday June 7 

To kick off delicious weekend of donuts, Apple Castle will be hosting a challenging road run around scenic Amish farms and fields. In addition to the 5K, there will be kid friendly events to keep the whole family moving – and eating

Bike Tour – Saturday June 8 

The Tour de Donut is a scenic ride on lightly to moderately traveled roads in Lawrence County.  With 3 route options for all levels and abilities this is a great event for all levels of riders!  Each loop begins and ends at Westminster College. Drinks, snack and donuts will be supplied for all riders at designated stops along the routes. Those who eat a full dozen donuts during the ride will win a commemorative souvenir. Those 12 and under will only need to eat a half dozen.

Wednesday Mornings in the Summer 

Join us for an interactive story time on the farm!  Each week has a different theme where participants get to engage in a story, play an interactive game and take a tractor ride to the orchard for a hands on activity with Farmer Steve.  The program is designed with preschool aged children in mind, though all are welcome.

In May we will sell a season pass, which allows you to pre-pay and pre-register for 6 events (1 of each topic).  Check back for the exact date & link.

Registration for individual events will be available 1 week before the event starts.  Spaces are limited.  We run the program from 9am-11:30am with small groups starting every 15 minutes.  The program lasts approximately 45mins-1hour.

Cost is $5 per child and $1 per adult.

Science and Nature Camp

Check back for 2024 dates 

Participants will be fully engaged learning about God’s world and scientific facts and concepts that they can take home and use in their own backyards. They will learn through play, crafts, literature, fun facts and farm tours and bring home a family discussion sheet for at home fun and learning.

Age: completed K through completed 4th grade

Cost: $75 per camper

Time: Monday-Friday from 9:30am-12pm 

LocationCamp will take place at the Apple Castle Pavilion – children will be outside for the duration of camp, with shaded & covered areas.  Please dress accordingly.

All lessons are taught by a certified PA teacher

Saturday December 7 & 21 9:30am-2:30pm

Christmas Cookie Walk

If you’re looking for an easy way to check holiday baking off your list this season, this event is for you!  We will have over 30 varieties of holiday cookies; you can mix and match any combination and pay per the pound!
